Privacy policy
1. Who we are
The controller of personal data processed through this site is Draftbench.
Contact: hello@getdraftbench.com.
If a registered company or trading name is later confirmed, this section will be updated with the legal entity name and registered address.
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal data we collect (if any), why we use it, the lawful bases we rely on, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and your rights under UK data protection law.
3. What we collect today
Currently none live. The public Draftbench site does not yet have a working newsletter signup, analytics, account system or payment form. Demo forms on the site do not send or store email addresses.
When features are wired (subject to approval), we expect to process:
- Newsletter email address — if you subscribe (see section 4).
- Contact emails — if you email us (e.g. tool submissions or sponsor enquiries) at hello@getdraftbench.com; we will process the content of that correspondence to reply.
- Technical logs — if our host or email provider retains standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps). Exact retention depends on the processor once chosen.
We do not currently run analytics cookies or third-party advertising trackers.
4. Newsletter (when enabled)
When the newsletter is connected:
- We will collect your email address solely to send the Draftbench newsletter and related service messages (e.g. confirmation, unsubscribe).
- Lawful basis: consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), and for electronic marketing under PECR, consent obtained before sending marketing emails.
- Double opt-in: we intend to require confirmation via a link in a verification email before adding you to the sending list.
- You can withdraw consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email or by emailing hello@getdraftbench.com.
- We will not sell your email address.
5. Processors (to be confirmed)
We have not yet appointed live processors for the public site. Candidates under consideration (subject to approval and contracts/DPAs where required) include:
- Hosting / CDN — e.g. Vercel and/or Cloudflare (domain already on Cloudflare).
- Transactional / newsletter email — e.g. Resend.
- Payments — e.g. Stripe, if sponsor payments are enabled.
This section will be updated with named processors, locations and links to their privacy notices before go-live of those features. Personal data may be transferred outside the UK only with an appropriate safeguard (e.g. UK adequacy, IDTA/SCCs) once processors are confirmed.
6. Retention
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe or we close the list; suppression/unsubscribe records may be kept longer as needed to honour opt-outs.
- Enquiry emails: typically up to 24 months after the last useful contact, unless a longer period is needed for legal claims.
- Server logs: per the host’s defaults (to be documented when hosting is live), usually short periods.
7. Your rights (UK GDPR)
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to: access your data; rectification; erasure; restriction; data portability; object to certain processing; and withdraw consent. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
To exercise rights, email hello@getdraftbench.com. We will respond within the statutory timeframe.
8. Cookies
None essential yet. The static site does not set analytics or advertising cookies. If we later add non-essential cookies (e.g. analytics), we will update this policy and, where required by PECR, seek consent before setting them. Strictly necessary cookies (if any are introduced for security or load balancing by the host) will be described here.
9. Children
Draftbench is aimed at adults building products with AI tools. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. UK users
This draft is written primarily for users in the United Kingdom under the UK GDPR and PECR. If you access the site from elsewhere, local laws may also apply; contact us with questions.
11. Sponsor and affiliate disclosure
Some directory placements or newsletter blocks may be paid. Any sponsored listing or newsletter sponsor block is always labelled as sponsored. Sponsorship does not change the factual descriptions we write. If affiliate links are ever used, they will be disclosed.
12. Changes
We will update this page when our practices change. Material changes before or after go-live will be reflected here with a revised date.
Last updated (draft): 16 October 2026. Status: draft for review — not in force as a live policy until approved and published with live processing.
